Yesterday evening I visited the beautiful new Devon wedding venue, Shilstone House near Modbury in the South Hams. As a professional wedding photographer Shilstone offers such a wealth of great photographic opportunities and splendid backdrop. They pride themselves on their bespoke and personal approach to your special day.

A romantic, newly restored Georgian house in the heart of South Hams, Devon. With fantastic opportunities for both
civil ceremonies and receptions, Shilstone offers the perfect setting for a country wedding.

The Main Entrance is approached by guests through the East Garden which is surrounded by iron railings and gate piers. Guests walk into the East Hall, a bright airy space with an open fireplace which provides a warm welcome. A stunning 85ft passage leads the eye through a series of arches down the length of the house to the West Hall.

The Dining Room is at the centre of the South front of the house, overlooking the cascade of lakes and valley beyond. This large panelled room with full height windows and English oak floor has a fantastic open fireplace and, for those glorious summer days, doors leading out onto the Front Terrace.

The West Hall with its beautiful geometric off-white stone floor and open fire leads out into the West Garden; this semi-circular grassed sun-trap nestles over 3 levels between the main house and the Walled Garden, with a view of the west façade.

Beyond this lies the Walled Garden, a fantastic space featuring a beautiful garden tower and stone fountain. The Walled Garden offers stunning views of Shilstone’s tiered lakes and of the rolling hills beyond.

You and your guests are able to enjoy exclusive use of the house and all the surrounding gardens for the duration of your celebrations.

Shilstone is a new Wedding venue accepting bookings from August 2011 onwards.

A memorable photograph from a lovely wedding day. the couple travelled from their home in Australia for their marriage in Torquay in Devon. One of the best things about being a wedding photographer is meeting so many lovely couples and families. They were blessed with glorious weather for their wedding.

Hi Everyone,

I’ve some very exciting news to share. I’m going to be adding a photo of the day to my blog and Facebook page. From memorable wedding photos to portraits, general observations and my fine art work I’ll be sharing a small part of my artistic vision and some of the story behind it.

My first photo is a great wedding photo from July last summer. The wedding took place just outside Bath and with the sun shining the landscape looked stunning. The bridesmaids were walking up a farm track near the curch and acting up for their partners who wre taking their photos. needless to say I couldn’t resist taking the photo that conveyed the fun they were all having.

Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some of the beautiful photographs from Yvette & Dan’s summer wedding on Dartmoor. Such a fun loving couple I knew their wedding would be wonderful after the enagment shoot earlier in the year on Saunton Sands in Devon.

Fortunately the weather improved and held up for most of the day and we managed to get out on to the moors to take in the stunning scenery. Yvette looked beautiful on the day and I’m sure everyone will agree that Dan’s nerves were well worth the wait!
