I hope everyone had a lovely festive period and New Year celebrations and now back to real life. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead with so many fantastic weddings to look forward to and so many great photographs to take!

Thought I’d share a few photos from Abi and Paul’s christmas wedding near Brixham in Torbay Devon. Though the weather was far from favourable they had a lovely wedding day and all the guests joined into the festive atmosphere of the day.

Wishing all my clients past and present a happy and prosperous New Year and look forward to the forthcoming wedding year.

What a wonderful winter wedding Hannah & Alister had yesterday. Despite the gusty and wet weather they had a fantastic wedding day – and the bride looked gorgeous in her vintage styled wedding dress! Following their church ceremony in Plymouth everyone moved on to Kitley House Hotel for the reception and the warm Christmas setting was wonderful. I can’t wait to show a preview of some of the photos over the following week.

Some great news to share with everyone is that Michael Marker Photography is on the move! having been at our current studio for the last two years we’re moving to a new more accessible location in the heart of the beautiful Milton Abbot Village. We’ll be able to display much more of our photographs and is a great place to meet exisitng and new clients. We’ll be up and running from the second week of December so please feel free to drop in for a coffee and a slice of cake.

Whilst designing an album for a couple whose wedding I photographed in August I was drawn to the beautiful and atmospheric light of this shot. The bridal party and me stopped off for some photos on Dartmoor and this stream setting was perfect – brings back so many great memories from their amazing day.

Wow! What amazing light and colours there are in St Ives in November! Had a lovely children’s portrait session along the harbour pier and on Porthmeor beach. You can certainly see why for decades artists have been drawn to St Ives.

I just had to share my latest award success with one of my photographs from a recent wedding at Pentillie Castle in Cornwall receiving a contest award with the prestigious Wedding Photojournalists Association (WPJA)

I wanted to share some of the beautiful photographs from Yvette & Dan’s summer wedding on Dartmoor. Such a fun loving couple I knew their wedding would be wonderful after the enagment shoot earlier in the year on Saunton Sands in Devon.

Fortunately the weather improved and held up for most of the day and we managed to get out on to the moors to take in the stunning scenery. Yvette looked beautiful on the day and I’m sure everyone will agree that Dan’s nerves were well worth the wait!

The good news is that we’re putting in place our plans to open a dedicated photography gallery at our studio on the Devon and Cornwall border. we’re planning to launch the Gallery in May and are now looking for photographers to submit their work for inclusion in our monthly exhibitions.

Our first show will centre around the theme ‘Stark’ and we’d love to hear from any photographers interested in being exhibited.

With Christmas and the New Year just around the corner I’m so excited about planned new developments at Michael Marker Photography and wanted to take the opportunity to let you know.

One of the most exciting developments is the planned opening of a photography gallery space at my studio in the early spring. I will be exhibiting some of my own fine art work as well as bringing the work of other photographers work. I’m really excited about this project and will keep you posted as it develops.

I’m also launching a range of new luxury wedding and portrait photobooks for my clients to choose from as well as a range of great photo display products.

Last but not least is the development of a new website and accompanying branded information leaflets and brochures which will be fresh off the press in January.
