Abigail & Paul’s Devon Christmas wedding

I hope everyone had a lovely festive period and New Year celebrations and now back to real life. I’m really looking forward to the year ahead with so many fantastic weddings to look forward to and so many great photographs to take!

Thought I’d share a few photos from Abi and Paul’s christmas wedding near Brixham in Torbay Devon. Though the weather was far from favourable they had a lovely wedding day and all the guests joined into the festive atmosphere of the day.

Sneak preview of Alister and Hannah’s Devon Christmas wedding

Just wanted to share a few of the photos from Alister and Hannah’s beautiful Christmas wedding. Following their ceremony in Plymouth with Hannah given away by her father, everyone travelled on to the reception held at the Kitley House Country Hotel near Yealmpton in Devon.

Hannah looked stunning in her vintage inspired dress and the guests had a fantastic day.

I wish them every success for their future together.

Hannah & Alister’s Devon winter wedding yesterday

What a wonderful winter wedding Hannah & Alister had yesterday. Despite the gusty and wet weather they had a fantastic wedding day – and the bride looked gorgeous in her vintage styled wedding dress! Following their church ceremony in Plymouth everyone moved on to Kitley House Hotel for the reception and the warm Christmas setting was wonderful. I can’t wait to show a preview of some of the photos over the following week.

Wedding photo of the week

Whilst moving my studio this week to a new business premise in West Devon, I’ve come across so many great wedding shots that I’ve not looked at for a while. And thought why not share them with everyone if one catches my eye.

I love this particular photograph and remember the wedding at Yealmpton near Plymouth in the South Hams followed by the reception at nearby Kitley House Hotel. Just love the bride and father of the bride’s glances to each other at the altar.

Wedding photo of the day

Whilst designing an album for a couple whose wedding I photographed in August I was drawn to the beautiful and atmospheric light of this shot. The bridal party and me stopped off for some photos on Dartmoor and this stream setting was perfect – brings back so many great memories from their amazing day.

Abi & Paul’s Torbay beach engagement shoot

What a great time I had photographing Abi & Paul’s engagement shoot prior to their Christmas wedding near Brixham, Devon later in the year. I’m sure you’ll all agree they look great and much in love.

I can’t wait to photograph their wedding day.

My wedding photo of the day

I was going through the many weddings I’ve photographed over the years and realised how exciting it is to view photographs with fresh eyes. Yes they all show my tell tale signs of painterly colour, use of ambient light and atmospheric quality but I can also see how my style and work has evolved.

This particular photo was from a winter wedding on Dartmoor. The day was cold but crisp and the marriage service started just as the light was fading. The reception was held on the high moor and the brides first dance was sung by the original composer and singer of a very well know and popular song – who also happened to be her uncle!

I’ll always remember it as it was amazing and reminds me again why I love weddings so much!
